Custom Futons and Memory Foam Mattresses

Welcome to Tatami Futons…
Futons are traditional Japanese beds originally designed to be placed on tatami flooring made of uniform mats bordered with cloth. Tatami Futons are based on the original Japanese design. They have an adjustable frame for use as a bed and a couch. The mattress is thicker and larger than Japanese futons. Futons are the best alternative to a bed when space is limited. Futons and adjustable beds are beneficial for certain types of back problems. Upper body incline and the knee support can help take stress off the lower back and provide comfortable sleeping through the night. They help support the curves of the spine and relieve pressure on the entire body.

The Memory Foam Mattress…
Originally designed to relieve the pressure experienced by astronauts during lift-off, latex memory foam mattresses do not use springs to provide support. They are a healthy alternative that provides a hypoallergenic sleeping surface. They are mold and mildew resistant and they instantly respond to touch and temperature. It is firmer in cooler temperatures and softer in warmer environments. Higher density memory foam reacts to body heat that allows it to mould itself to the shape of a warm body within a few minutes. Lower density memory foam is pressure-sensitive and will mould more quickly to the shape of the body. It is often seen as a good compromise between the comfort of a soft mattress and the supportiveness of a firm one.
